Midseason Update

Like many organizations and businesses, we lost about 6 weeks of scheduled programming in April and May.  We were able to host a modified fundraiser May 2. Our “Cowboy Cruise-Thru” was well received and our students were very excited to be here!  The pandemic has affected all of us, but we see the impact it has made on the special needs community.  The isolation we are experiencing has been very hard on our students and their families. Most of our families live in the reality of isolation on a daily basis.  The pandemic created yet another deficit in their lives. For many of our students we are the only activity in which they participate and we are thankful to be an outdoor facility which can safely serve our students.

What have we done in response to Covid-19?  As far as our program is concerned, we adjusted many things. In consideration of the virus, we implemented disinfecting procedures to safely serve our students and protect our 40 plus volunteers.  When we reopened June 1,  we established new protocols in addition to fabricating face shields for each of our students helmets.  Each student now also has his/her own set of reins and brushes to use.

We have given approximately 375 lessons so far this season and will provide many more in the coming months.  We hope this gives you a glimpse into the life of Hoof & Harness Experiential Learning, Inc. and the students we serve.

If you are interested in making a donation, please make checks payable to Hoof & Harness Experiential Learning, Inc.  or donate through our PayPal.

We greatly appreciate the support we receive from our donors, which allows us to continue serving the special needs community through Therapeutic Horsemanship.
